Are you trying to find a simple approach to writing instructions for Internet marketing, blogs, and more? We have the perfect idea for you: Canva Magic Write!
Writing is difficult, and occasionally, no matter how long you stare at the computer screen, meaningful sentences just won’t come together. But in the digital age, where written content is far too significant, many people do not have the option of not writing. Written material can be found in social media posts, blogs, emails, newsletters, and websites. And we hadn’t even thought about creative writing.
We know someone who could assist you in writing, whether you need to write for your business or you just need a little encouragement for your creative endeavors. Magic Write is the newest writing tool from Canva.
How Does Magic Write Work, and What Is It?
Magic Write is a writing aid that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to facilitate smooth writing. By giving it a cue, you may use it to generate sentences, paragraphs, outlines, lists, and much more.
It can write anything for you, including creative writing, poetry, journal entries, business ideas, emails, blogs, website material, and social media postings. You can use it to generate ideas for you to use in your writing, even if you don’t want it to write the full piece for you.
Within Canva Docs, Magic Write is available. What’s that, exactly? The design app now includes Canva Docs, a new feature that is part of Canva’s transition towards a Visual Workspace. Their objective is to give users a framework where images and text can combine in the most natural way possible. In essence, Canva Docs gives you the ability to create documents while preserving Canva’s magic. As a result, in contrast to every other form of document editor out there, you may develop documents that prioritize creativity. Therefore, Canva Docs is the way to go if you need to design papers where photographs, videos, or any other type of visuals don’t stand out like sore thumbs and appear like they actually belong there.
Returning to Magic Write, it functions in two different ways. You may give it a prompt and have it generate text from that, or you can give it your existing text and have it generate more material. It can only provide data based on the prompts or text you provide. Therefore, give instructions with as much context as possible to acquire the correct results.
The Drawbacks of Canva Magic Write
As with all other AI helpers, Magic Write has several restrictions that you should be aware of when using it.
- The maximum input and output word counts for Magic Write are 200 and 500, respectively.
- Because it currently only uses data through mid-2021, it may produce information that is out of date.
- It might produce text that is inaccurate or not original.
- Despite all the filters and checks built into its programming, it can nevertheless deliver hazardous or inappropriate content. You may notify Canva if this happens. However, if you use the text that Magic Write produced, you’ll be held liable for it under the terms and conditions of Magic Write.
How Does Magic Write Function?
The AI-powered assistant is only available to users who have access to Canva Docs. You need to sign up for the waitlist in order to use Canva Docs right now because it is still in beta testing.
Both free and paid Canva users have access to the feature; however, the usage guidelines are different. Magic Write is only accessible to Canva Free users for a total of 25 uses in their lifetime. In other words, Canva Free users are limited to 25 pieces of content they can create with the tool and their account. In contrast, users of Canva Pro, Canva for Teams, and Canva for Nonprofits are individually entitled to up to 75 Magic Write sessions per month. Users of Canva for Education cannot access it, though.
Additionally, Magic Write is still in the open beta stage and can only support texts in the following languages right now: English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Indonesian.
Using Magic Write
To create a new Canva Docs document, go to canva.com/docs and choose “Create a Document.”
The well-known Canva editor, with the toolbar on the left and the editor on the right, will open with a blank page.
To create text from a prompt, select the text editor’s “+” (Add Magic) symbol.
The Magic Menu can also be accessed by using the /magic command.
“Magic Write” can be chosen from the menu.
Enter the prompt or specify the text you want to produce after that. Keep in mind that your input is limited to 200 words, and that the more guidance you provide the AI, the better the results you’ll obtain.
Then, on your keyboard, press the Enter key. This would count as one of your allotted Magic Write uses. The text will be produced by AI. After altering and proofreading it, you can use it as is. Alternatively, you may use it as motivation to generate more material.
Click the “+” icon after highlighting the text to create new text from the existing text.
The directions box would display the current content. If the word count permits, you may include further instructions after this text. By using Shift and Enter on your keyboard, you can enter instructions on a new line.
To confirm, press Enter. It’ll create your content.
Guidelines for Effective Use
To make the most of it, collaborate with it rather than relying on it entirely to help you come up with ideas and provide you with a place to start. You can create material with personality by using it as a co-author and adding a human touch to the AI-generated content.
Additionally, keep in mind that it lacks its own ideas or convictions. It only produces material by making an effort to closely follow your directions. As a result, always give thorough instructions on your initial query because each one counts toward your Magic Write usage cap.
Even your voice tone can be incorporated into your directions to the AI. Whether you require a serious or humorous tone, just mention it in your instructions, and AI will take it into consideration when creating your material. As an illustration, we gave it the identical prompt as before, along with the added directive to keep the tone of voice lighthearted.
The results’ differentiation may be seen in the table below.
Additionally, always use caution before disseminating the stuff that Magic Write produces. Keep in mind that it may produce information that is inaccurate, old, or even unique. Therefore, before distributing the text, you should carefully check it for accuracy. You will ultimately be in charge of the content you share, not Canva.
With Magic Write in Canva Docs, all it takes to quickly create up to 500 words on any subject is that. Use it to write business-related content or simply brief notes for invitations to weddings, thank-you notes, or birthday cards.
